SENIOR DIRECTOR, SEC REPORTING – San Mateo, CA
Our client, one of the World’s Most Admired Companies, is looking to hire a new Senior Director, SEC Reporting.  A full-time, direct hire opportunity, this is a highly visible, management position reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller.  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage a team of 3 within the Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting team
  • Oversee the preparation of the 10Q, 10K and other reports
  • Liaise and collaborate with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above reference reports
  • Maintain a formal quarterly reporting schedule, including Disclosure Committee review and Audit Committee reporting and monitor progress against reporting cycle deadlines
  • Manage earnings release process including ownership of financial schedules
  • Review and prepare various schedules for internal reporting requirements including the monthly Board package
  • Manage the external auditor relationship, including global auditor fees for approval by the Audit Committee
  • Incorporate and maintain sound processes and controls within the SEC Reporting function
  • Assist in the ongoing monitoring and interpretation of new SEC/GAAP, Regulatory pronouncements and review quarterly update to staff
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Active CPA
  • Minimum of 10 years of public and private accounting industry experience
  • Experience managing the SEC Reporting function at a large, publicly traded company
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and XBRL
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • The ability to identify problems, provide solutions, adapt to changing situations and manage issues to a successful resolution
  • Highly accurate and deadline focused
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with extensive experience managing multiple complex assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and verbal communication, especially in developing positions and presenting to management, auditors and non-accounting stakeholders
