Director, Equity Management Practice – Bay Area, CA
Our client, a leading national CPA and consultancy firm, is looking for a senior leader to join to their Equity Management Practice.  This team offers finance and accounting related services to both private and publicly traded companies throughout the bay area, interfacing with executive and senior management level personnel.  A highly visible position, this role will be integral in accelerating this practice’s business.  It will help manage the business including managing the operations of the team, allocating projects and resources, and will play an important role in quality control.
  • Provide expertise to clients as it relates to equity and equity accounting needs
  • Partner with practice leadership to manage team operations, including:
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating appropriate staff
    • Manage client expectations and deliver high quality solutions on time and within scope and budget
    • Provide insights into operational metrics of the team’s performance
    • Provide leadership and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures for service delivery, including development of templates, documentation of best practices, training/contributing to the knowledge base of the team, etc.
    • Mentor staff and otherwise significantly contribute to team/resource building
    • Draft/review technical accounting position papers that are clear, concise and accurate, referencing all applicable accounting research
    • Effective translation and documentation of client requirements into financial statements and exhibits
    • Interact with financial statement audit teams regarding technical positions, financial statement disclosures, and other significant project matters
    • Assist with scoping, budgeting and proposing on new client opportunities
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Business
  • CPA, strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of equity software systems, a plus (Equity Edge Online, Certent, Shareworks)
  • Deep knowledge of share-based compensation accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work directly with clients, analyze risk and determine solutions
  • Good facilitation techniques for determining client business requirements and directing client teams in completing tasks
  • Strong client management, consulting, communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to travel within Bay Area
